Job Description

St. Agnes Church in Catonsville Maryland seeks for a reliable and proactive Facilities Manager for the parish. The Facilities Manager helps to oversee and perform basic repairs and maintenance of parish buildings and property while contributing to the smooth operation of the parish. This position reports directly to the Business Manager and works collaboratively with other pastoral team. Candidate for this position must have availability to respond to on-call emergencies. This is a full-time benefit eligible position. Scheduled hours are Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm.

Essential Functions

  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks according to service quality and safety standards. This includes general plumbing HVAC electrical and carpentry work for the maintenance and repair of church buildings and property.
  • Select and supervise vendors performing contractual work e.g. landscaping plumbing repairs construction projects etc.
  • Support ongoing maintenance projects to uphold the functionality and appearance of parish buildings and property.
  • Assist with miscellaneous facility projects as needed for events reconfigurations or office updates including painting drywall and carpentry installation of fixtures and moving furniture or materials within the facilities.
  • Maintain organization in facility spaces.
  • Washes walls windows and maintain grounds by removing debris or leaves snow removal trash removal and other seasonal tasks as required.
  • Conduct facilities cleanup to ensure a safe and organized environment.
  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment and practice safe work habits.
  • Assist with cleaning as needed (e.g. removing unused items from buildings cleaning sweeping mopping and waxing of floors and perform custodial tasks as needed.
  • Aid in the custodial work during the hours of operation and support the physical operation of the parish office while the building is occupied.
  • Set up and/or move equipment and furniture for various Church events and decorate for holiday events/seasons.
  • Assist in emergencies (e.g. spills/leaks in the building clean up after flooding shovel snow and remove ice during severe weather).
  • Communicate and collaborate with other staff members church groups diocesan representatives and community leaders.
  • Be on call for alarm system alerts.
  • Select equipment and materials for cleaning replenishes supplies in buildings as needed.
  • Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessitated by Church activities such as setting up for parish events.

Position Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry heavy objects (with assistance if needed)
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license with no more than three current points.
  • Previous maintenance and minor repair work experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and organization skills required.
  • This position requires absolute confidentiality professionalism and a team-player approach.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 Hourly
