The Air Quality Engineering Scientist performs unique analyses calculations and professional functions essential to implementation of the air quality permitting programs in the state of Montana. Responsibilities include: Prepare air quality permits for the regulation of industrial sources of air pollution; Review to determine prescribe and assess the design and implementation of structures devices systems and processes meet air pollution compliance and control regulations; Analysis to determine whether facilities equipment and industrial processes are constructed and operated in compliance with air quality rules and permit requirements; Review and implementation of state and federal statutes rules and policies; and Acting as a liaison for the Department to the public and industry on air quality matters.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering particularly environmental engineering or a closely related field of engineering.
Additional degrees preferred: Biology Chemistry Atmospheric Science or related field in science.
Two years of job-related experience in environmental engineering design and compliance or in a related engineering profession.
Current valid Drivers License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy
