Job Description

What Youve Accomplished

  • Completion of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of directly related experience.
  • Installs troubleshoots assembles and disassembles repairs and maintains tooling and equipment at plant sites
  • May include equipment associated with refueling inspecting and maintaining nuclear reactors and components
  • Conducts routine and non-routine tasks operates specialized equipment takes measurements extracts and compiles data regarding equipment and process performance
  • Collates data on task and outage performance
  • Develops calculations tables reports and related data; maintains maintenance logs and certification documents
  • Develops maintenance procedures problem reports field schedules and task close out reports as needed
  • Participates in planning and executing projects
  • Assists in preparation of proposal and procurement documents
  • May provide input to training materials and may conduct training as needed
  • Complies with all applicable safety and health rules including personal dose compliance
  • Works flexible hours and shifts as required to ensure timely service
  • May require extensive travel to a variety of regional and remote job sites.

Who You Are

Your actions behaviors and decisions are made in a manner consistent with our Core Values: may have also acquired the following skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of NDE experience in the nuclear industry as a level II of multiple techniques and applications (UT PT VT MT or RT)
  • Advanced knowledge of commonly used equipment practices and procedures. Automated and / or Phased Array UT Experience preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions policies procedures and guidelines required to perform assigned tasks
  • Good written/ verbal skills; ability to effectively communicate with staff management and coworkers
  • Knowledge of ASME code and nuclear industry regulatory requirements associated with NDE
  • VT/UT/PT/MT Level 2

Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on peoples lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Certified NDE Inspector in Lynchburg VA (remote work will also be considered) you will be part of the proven team in the IBN-A NDE Solutions Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. The Installed Base NDE (Non-Destructive Examinations) Business Group specializes in remote tooling and robotics for inspecting nuclear components. IBN-A performs work in both PWR and BWR environments inspecting components with simple to sophisticated tooling and robotic equipment. The group works closely with engineering and other technical teams to develop and improve upon existing specialized NDE techniques and tooling to perform customer required examinations. Your work will include:

  • Assisting other levels in preparations for upcoming field projects
  • Participating in technique demonstrations for customers
  • Participating in NDE specific Ready-to-Execute checks of field equipment
  • Assisting in development projects as needed
  • Assisting in updating or generation of Technical Justifications and Procedures.

This position requires up to 50% travel with Seasonal Field deployment tasks include various automated and manual NDE disciplines on PWR and BWR components. Typical deployments are 2-3 weeks at a time and multiple deployments in outage seasons are typical. Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $37.80 - $49.60 per hour and may also include annual incentives performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications skill level competencies and work location.
