Position Summary:

The team member serves as a subject matter expert in the quality and training of Integrated Operating Room (OR) products and program maintenance. They are responsible for the organization and management of their programs of instruction given to all students in the Integrated OR courses. Team member works towards continuous improvement of the training program through the Quality Management System (QMS).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

A Senior Trainer for the Communication Business Unit (Comm BU) is an exceptionally talented individual who seeks to improve the quality of technicians students and programs through a world class training program. They integrate into the process of onboarding new hire technicians 3rd Party technicians international students and other Stryker Internal students seeking to gain a better understanding and qualified knowledge of the Communication BUs Integrated OR products. The Training and Quality team strives to build talented individuals who are self-driven highly motivated and committed to the Stryker mission of making healthcare better. A Senior Trainer can motivate their students to comprehend the material regardless of type of learning method needed to achieve this goal. They attend to their students needs assist with course work tutoring and 1:1 development of the Integrated OR Products. They can manage their program of instruction while teaching courses as needed. The Senior Trainer can operate in a fast-paced environment adapting to a myriad of tasks given to them to ensure team success foresee problems that may arise and implement corrective actions to remain proactive with the training program. They serve as mentors to associate trainers and students who seek to gain and improve their knowledge of integrated OR platforms. A Senior Trainer is qualified and proficient on all Integrated OR products. They understand the in-depth knowledge of the products and can articulate the material to all students that come through training program. They serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all Integrated OR products.

The Senior Trainer meets weekly with their entire team to discuss status of current objectives changes to priorities and give input to new plans moving forward. Communication is key to success with this team ensuring that information is being escalated as appropriate and priorities received back to guide the training program. Important areas to focus on are product knowledge and their impact on the training program. They partner with the Lead Trainer to continually improve and manage the training program. This involves receiving feedback from students through established processes and working with product engineers for new product launches and any updates or revisions to current products. The Senior Trainer works with the teams Quality Analyst and Lead Trainer to determine if any changes are needed to the training program and begin implementation of these changes. They can work with minimal guidance from their Lead Trainer or manager to accomplish their objectives.

As part of the class of instruction the Senior Trainer is an SME on all Comm BU Integrated OR Products. They are capable of teaching others who have little or no medical device experience the foundational skill set needed to be successful with the installation and servicing of the Integrated OR products. They work with appropriate team members to develop content for new products launching modifying current content in the training plan and integrating any quality updates for products into the program of instruction. The Senior Trainer implements and modifies training as needed within Strykers Learning Management System. The Senior Trainer works with their students by providing them feedback and coaching for the Integrated OR products ensuring all students leave the program of instruction with a comfortable understanding of the material and foundation they can build upon.

The Senior Trainer serves as the SME for products located onsite with Communications BU Customers. They can provide support remotely to sites across the US and International as needed helping to troubleshoot issues that are beyond the scope of a trained field technician. The Senior Trainer partners with product engineers and the quality team to help investigate escalated issues for Comm BU customers. To support these customers the Senior Trainer may travel to hospital Onsite locations as part of an investigation team in determining any issues related to the installation or servicing of products then provide feedback to rectify the issue and help improve our QMS. As needed the Senior Trainer provides Onsite training to Comm BU Customers.

The Senior Trainer participates in New Product Development by providing input for training on these products. They partner with product engineers to establish sustainment training needed during product update or revisions. They are part of the new product validation that relates to training providing input as requested by the product engineers and the quality team.

The Senior Trainer is a problem solver. They can identify issues work through a problem-solving method and provide solutions to the leadership team if needed. They constantly look for areas to improve within the training system or the QMS collaborate with the correct teams and take action to implement any necessary changes. They can take guidance given to them by their manager and operate with minimal oversight in completing their tasks. They can collect and analyze important data metrics that impact the training teams Key Performance Objectives. With this information they can make decisions that have a positive impact on the team.

The Senior Trainer can work remotely when classroom instruction is not in session. This provides the opportunity to focus on the maintenance and improvement of the training program and have the flexibility to utilize the office environment for continued collaboration. The Senior Trainer will have the opportunity to work on several process improvement projects that benefit the teams Operations and QMS. This position will challenge and develop an ideal candidate looking to learn grow and accomplish their goals!

Education:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience preferred

Qualifications & Experience:

This position requires demonstrated leadership characteristics and capabilities. Excellent organizational planning and performance attainment skills. A successful candidate should have 3-6 years of facilitating training and developing content or an equivalent experience with the installation/servicing of medical device equipment. A proven record of problem solving with minimal input thinking of outside the box type solutions that will continually aid the teams efforts to improve. Someone who is a team player always willing to go the extra mile and help different areas of the team when needed. Curiosity is a great feature we look for as the wiliness to learn new products systems processes will make the candidate very successful in this position. Great communication skills and ability to speak with peers and upper-level management when it comes to technical issues serving as an SME when explaining problems and solutions for leadership team to decide on.

Travel Percentage: 20%
