Job Description
Senior Accountant Construction & Real Estate
Location: Tysons VA (Onsite 5 days/week)
A nationally recognized construction and infrastructure services firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate finance team. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the monthly and year-end close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded
Prepare and analyze financial statements reconciliations and variance reports
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations to track project-level costs and payments
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing inquiries
Assist with budgeting and forecasting providing insights and variance analysis
Develop financial reports for joint ventures and subsidiaries including calculating distributions
Recommend and implement process improvements leveraging tools like SAP and Excel
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA or CPA track preferred)
2 years of accounting experience; public accounting or industry experience in construction or real estate strongly preferred
Experience with SAP Oracle or other large ERP systems highly desirable
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs pivot tables etc.)
Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate financial reporting
Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively both independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
