FLSA STATUS: Regular Full-Time Exempt

SUMMARY: SABG is seeking a Space Modeling and Simulations Engineer in Multiple Levels- Level II III or IV to support the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

• Perform orbital mechanics modeling including orbit determination orbital maneuvering and spacecraft flight dynamics
• Supporting sensor phenomenology (optics/radar/RF)
• Utilize and develop cutting-edge mod/sim tools and algorithms to help address some of the most challenging issues regarding Space Situational Awareness (SSA) for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD)
• Develop code/scripts to develop algorithms perform analyses and automate data processing to model space conflict scenarios for system evaluation and mission effectiveness
• Work in a collaborative team environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the Space domain

SUPERVISION: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors Degree in a STEM related field such as Engineering Mathematics Physics Aerospace Computer Science etc.
• Level II 2-5 years of experience; Level III 6-9 years of experience; Level IV 10 - 13 years of experience
• Active Top Secret/SCI w/Poly Clearance
• Experience using one or more of the following: C Python R SQL PostgreSQL Linux MATLAB VBA or STK
• Engineering analysis (collecting organizing analyzing data) experience
• Excellent communication skills that will allow the presentation of findings to internal and external customers

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
• Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing spreadsheets and database (MS Office: Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read analyze and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations. Solid understanding of basic mathematical concepts and the ability to apply them in proposal development.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
