Job Description

Sieda is now accepting applications for Administrative/CACFP Specialist for the Child Development Unit. This position will be located at the Sieda Corporate office in Wapello County. Some travel to the following counties: Appanoose Davis Jefferson Keokuk Mahaska VanBuren and Wapello.



JOB TITLE: Administrative/CACFP Specialist UNIT: Child Development
REPORTS TO: Child Development Director FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
Works closely with the CACFP Coordinator Child Development Director and Assistant Director to ensure that
administrative responsibilities are carried out in a timely organized and efficient manner. Is responsible for supporting
high-quality CACFP programming that complies with state and federal regulations. Through monitoring recruitment and
tracking of Head Start centers and family day care home providers is responsible for providing resources and support to
staff home daycare providers and other team members.


PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required to be considered for this position.
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree in Child/Family Development Family and Consumer Sciences Early Childhood Education Nutrition or in
a related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
The Administrative/CACFP Specialist position requires a minimum of 1 year experience in preschool nutrition health social
services childcare or related field.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:
Requires moderate level computer knowledge and experience.

Ability to use existing software applications including Microsoft and Google with minimal training.
Must collect enter and update the My Food Program with minimal training.
Ability to perform software and/or hardware troubleshooting for routine issues on various types of equipment with
minimal assistance.


Wages: $14.47-$17.01

SUMMARY:

administrative responsibilities are carried out in a timely organized and efficient manner. Is responsible for supporting
high-quality CACFP programming that complies with state and federal regulations. Through monitoring recruitment and
tracking of Head Start centers and family day care home providers is responsible for providing resources and support to
staff home daycare providers and other team members.
DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs multiple duties requiring moderate skills as follows:
Assists in monitoring Child Care Providers on a regular basis to assure compliance with program requirements.
Assists in monitoring CACFP records and CACFP Provider claims.
Assists in processing purchase orders as authorized by the Child Development Director and/or Assistant Director.
Maintains inventories of office equipment computers tablets and other program property.
Maintains operational functions including user security and access in applicable database systems.
Maintains full familiarity with all applicable guidelines pertaining to the program and immediately reports in writing any
deviations to CACFP Coordinator.
Assists in the development of CACFP Management Plans/Budgets for Centers and the Head Start federal grant application.
Plans meals in conjunction with the catering sites and contracted dietician which meet the USDA requirements for
preschool children and children who require special dietary modifications.
Calculates monitors and submits monthly CACFP claims for Head Start centers.
Prepares contracts for Head Start catering sites. Meets with site personnel to update and review contracts as needed.
Conducts two unannounced site visits in each Head Start classroom annually to ensure compliance with applicable
regulations.
Tracks all required information regarding nutrition service delivery areas for Head Start program and funding reports.
Develops and monitors nutritional training for all Head Start staff.
Provides additional training and support for nutrition staff per new employee orientation schedule or individual staff
development plans.
Reviews and approves monthly nutrition activities.
Provides regular written and oral reports for nutrition services to the CACFP Coordinator and/or the Child Development
Director.
Assists the CACFP Coordinator in identifying training needs and potential resources.
Other duties determined necessary to achieve the goals of the agency.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Receives periodic supervision regarding task guidelines and completion.
DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
Limited independent decision-making authority.
ADDITIONAL TRAINING:
Obtain training required by Sieda and Child and Adult Care Food program guidelines.
Must complete required training hours annually per Iowa Bureau of Nutrition and Health for Child and Adult Care Food
programs.
Mandatory reporters of child and dependent adult abuse are required to hold valid training certifications.
Must have up to date certification in CPR/First Aid and Universal Precautions.
Participate in pre-service in-service/other training staff meetings and committee work as required.

PROGRAM REPRESENTATION:
Requires varying levels of interaction with staff customers and other agencies in a role where they represent the Child and
Adult Care Food program and the Head Start program.
PROGRAM DESIGN AND PLANNING:
Involved in the planning of a limited area within the Child and Adult Care Food program reflective of his/her job
responsibilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk hear stand walk move quickly use
hand to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds climb stairs pick up and move children and/or equipment.
Vision abilities required by this job include close distant and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

OTHER:
Must pass pre-employment state criminal record and federal fingerprinting check then successfully pass a state criminal
record check every 2 years and a federal fingerprint check every 4 years for the duration of employment.
Must complete and maintain a current physical examination and TB screen for the duration of employment.
