Whats the job
Youll be the right hand to our newly created Policy and Advocacy Lead working across teams to support strategic advocacy campaigns craft compelling policy submissions and build relationships with the people who make things happengovernment regulators industry and consumer groups.

What youll be doing
Support advocacy campaignsthat drive real change for digital platform users.
Track progresslike a pro using project management tools.
Build and maintain relationshipswith key stakeholdersthink government regulators and industry leaders.
Represent usat forums and workshops (yes youll get to speak up!).
Research and writepolicy submissions briefings and reports that pack a punch.
Stay sharpby monitoring trends and emerging issues in the digital space.
Help shape strategywith clear concise and persuasive communications.
Who youll work with
Youll collaborate with a passionate team of policy experts media and communications professionals and senior leadersincluding the Ombudsman. Youll also engage with external stakeholders who are just as invested in the future of digital platforms as you are.
Must-haves:
A degree in Law Public Policy Political Science or similar.
Experience contributing to advocacy campaigns or government relations.
Strong research and communication skills.
A good grasp of legal concepts and political processes.
A curious mind and creative approach to solving complex problems.
A positive professional and respectful attitude.
Bonus points for:
Knowledge of the digital platforms sector.
Familiarity with external dispute resolution schemes.

This is a 12-month maximum term appointment paid at Grade 3 of the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman Enterprise Agreement 2024.
