Job Description Materials Planning Supervisor

How will you make an impact

The Materials Planning Supervisor plays a key role in the success of the Single-Use Technology Division (SUD) by using the ERP system to plan and order raw materials for manufacturing. You will ensure that master data is maintained appropriately to enable an accurate systemic signal to be generated and can be used as a baseline in our ordering process.

What will you do

  • Manage coach and mentor a team of Materials Planners to enable continuous growth and development of each team member
  • Share standard methodologies with other sites within the business unit and be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in the field of Materials Planning
  • Use MPS/MRP in ERP System to drive materials planning and ordering of raw materials
  • Manage key item settings in ERP System to ensure accurate system functionality
  • Plan and schedule MTS products and monitor excess inventory
  • Monitor and reconcile exception messages
  • Manage push-in / push-out of material delivery dates directly with suppliers to allow for the right balance of production plan stability and inventory investment
  • Bring up backorders or supplier performance issues to Procurement Team
  • Ensure accurate rolling component forecasts are available to support strategic sourcing process and ongoing communication on future needs with our suppliers
  • Build inventory projections and reporting across Raw Materials WIP and Finished Goods
  • Provide inputs for Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) and Sales Inventory & Operations (SIOP) Meetings about Excess & Obsolete inventory and key shortages/excess.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations and Manufacturing Planning to optimize schedule adherence
  • Collaborate with various departments to minimize schedule changes within the frozen window
  • Train as a backup for other members of the team
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities
  • Support expansion and harmonization projects
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

How will you get here

  • Bachelors Degree preferred in Business Supply Chain Logistics Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 6 years of experience in Procurement Materials Planning or Supply Chain
  • Proficient in managing and analyzing data in Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing concepts and principles finite scheduling product flow data management and supply chain planning
  • Planning and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment applying MRP/ERP and APS (Oracle ASCP SAP JDE M2M server-based systems)
  • Preference for Certification in APICS CPIM CSCP ISM CPSM Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)
