CONFERENCE SERVICES LOGISTICS COORDINATOR



JOB TITLE: Conference Services Logistics Coordinator

DIVISION: Business and Finance

DEPARTMENT:Conference and Event Services

Position Summary: Coordinates and delivers logistical operations for all university and university-hosted events. Maintains records of significant logistical data relating to events.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up for all events happening on campus.
  • Support event management coordination cross-training with AV and event coordinators when needed.
  • Keep records of significant logistical data relating to campus events.
  • Determine the logistical requirements of routine and special events; includes resource inventory tracking data points service needs layout formations; using computer software programming
  • Resolve scheduling and/or resource conflicts to match customer expectations with physical facilities.
  • Coordinate rental equipment contracts and/or delivery with local companies (e.g. U-Haul staging sound furniture rental etc.).
  • Maintain a valid Missouri Class E Operators License Forklift License and Aerial Work Platform Certification.
  • Train personnel on the safety and operation of mechanical maintenance lift in Riggs Hall
  • Coordinate replacement or repair of broken furniture.
  • Manages the furniture inventory in the Campus Warehouse academic building loading docks and Administration building storage area (the cage).
  • Maintain up to date inventory records of residence hall and classroom furnishings.
  • Manage faculty and staff office furniture including building desks and relocating furniture when needed.
  • Schedule train and supervise student workers.
  • Perform other related work as requested by the Director of Conference and Event Services.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent G.E.D. certificate. Some overtime is required.

Maintain a valid Missouri Class E Operators License Forklift License and Aerial Work Platform Certification.

Experience: Logistics operations experience preferred. Experience operating logistics related heavy equipment (fork lift aerial work platform pallet jack hand truck and hydraulic lifts). Knowledge and experience using computer software Event Management Systems (EMS Campus) Social Tables and OneNote is a plus.

Machine Tools & Equipment Used:PC MS Office 2013 Applications calendar scheduling software applications logistics related heavy equipment (e.g. fork lift aerial work platform pallet jack hand truck and hydraulic lifts) tools such as drill impact driver and basic construction tools.

Working Conditions:Office field and warehouse environment must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 100 lbs. of equipment.

Hazards:Operation of heavy equipment

Organizational Relationships:Reports to the Director of Conference and Event Services

Evaluation:Evaluation of the job performance is measured against the above duties and responsibilities according to University policy.

Selection Process:Selected applicants will interview with the Director of Conference and Event Services.
