We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Platform Quality & Stability to lead and evolve our quality engineering testing and platform reliability initiatives. This executive role is pivotal in driving strategic quality transformation shaping the future of our QA practices and ensuring our platforms are reliable performant and scalable.
As the VP you will own the company-wide quality charter build cross-functional alignment and lead efforts to modernize and standardize testing and quality practices across multiple engineering teams. You will be accountable for production stability test automation release readiness and deploying best-in-class quality and performance strategies

Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Quality Leadership
    • Define and drive the QA and platform stability vision aligned with company goals.
    • Be the organizational voice and advocate for quality and platform stability across all levels of engineering.
    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and proactive quality ownership.

    • Modernization & Automation
    • Overhaul and modernize legacy QA approaches with a forward-thinking automation-first mindset.
    • Establish and expand robust automated testing frameworks (unit integration system regression performance).
    • Evaluate and adopt AI-powered tools to optimize test creation prioritization execution and defect prediction. Champion the roll-out and execution across the Engineering organization.
    • Lead adoption of CI/CD-integrated testing shift-left strategies and test observability.

    • Standardization & Best Practices
    • Develop and enforce standardized quality engineering practices processes and tools across all teams.
    • Build scalable QA strategies for fast-moving engineering organizations with complex product portfolios.
    • Define and guide software quality maturity models for teams to evolve through.

    • KPI & Metric-Driven Execution
    • Identify define and evangelize quality KPIs (e.g. defect escape rate automation coverage MTTR test effectiveness).
    • Use metrics and insights to drive decisions identify bottlenecks and improve test coverage and velocity.
    • Present actionable reporting to executive leadership product and engineering partners.

    • Platform Stability & Readiness
    • Own production readiness including load testing fault injection and incident simulation.
    • Establish scalable performance testing and chaos engineering practices.
    • Partner with SRE and DevOps to ensure resilient architectures pre-release validation and incident prevention.

    • Release Management & Deployment Oversight
    • Collaborate with Engineering Product and Operations to refine the release process.
    • Ensure high-quality repeatable and secure release pipelines with rollback and canary strategies.
    • Build release gates risk assessments and go/no-go criteria for critical launches.

    • Team Leadership & Development
    • Build scale and mentor high-performing QA test automation and performance engineering teams.
    • Cultivate a data-driven ownership-oriented and collaborative team culture.
    • Promote talent development succession planning and career growth.

Qualifications

    • 15 years of experience in software engineering QA or platform operations with 7 years in executive leadership roles.
    • Proven success modernizing and scaling QA/test engineering practices in high-growth environments.
    • Deep expertise in automated testing performance/load testing release engineering and continuous delivery.
    • Track record of building measurable QA strategies and driving impactful KPIs.
    • Exceptional leadership communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Hands-on experience with modern toolchains (e.g. K6 Selenium Cypress Playwright Gatling JMeter Jenkins GitHub Actions Kubernetes etc.).
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
$160 - $200 a year
