Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
Major Responsibilities:
This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards. Conducts all activities with an appreciation respect and promotion of diversity of people styles and views.
A qualified faculty member teaching MEAS 225 meets the Medical Assisting program standard (see * below) or all of the following criteria:
Possesses an earned associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and
Has a minimum of 2-years of direct work experience as a medical assistant or as an RN or LPN in an ambulatory care setting where they performed administrative clinical and laboratory duties and
Possesses both of the following:
oCurrent professional certification in the field (CMA CCMA or RMA)
oCompleted academic preparation appropriate to the course being taught.

Professional in interactions with students and other Ivy Tech employees. Student-centered approach and supportive of their success. Models appropriate workplace behaviors and ethics maintains confidentiality.
