Job Description

At MUSC our Histotechnologist are essential partners in diagnostic excellence. Join a high-energy collaborative laboratory team delivering critical results in a top-tier hospital setting .



What Youll Do
Process a wide range of histologic specimens: grossing embedding microtomy staining (including special stains & immunohistochemistry) and frozen sections
Produce high-quality slides and perform quality control to ensure accurate pathology reviews
Troubleshoot issues that could affect diagnostic outcomes
Maintain clean and perform routine checks on lab equipment
Adhere to universal safety procedures and lab protocols
Rotate on-call nights and weekends (8AM9PM) to support laboratory needs









Additional Job Description

Qualifications & Essentials
Bachelors degree in Histotechnology Biology or related scientific field
HTL(ASCP) certification (or equivalent) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification
If not certified must have completed a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire until certification achieved salary will be 10% less.
Strong attention to detail teamwork and communication
