You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe primary mission of Buncombe County ASPIRE Court is to increase public safety and save lives by reducing recidivism of persons with alcohol and drug use disorders. ASPIRE Court strives to make our streets safer; to create an effective and responsible partnership with community resources; and to foster accountability for the participants by increasing treatment and supervision for the repeat impaired driver.
This position is for the ASPIRE Court Coordinator. The ASPIRE Court Coordinator is responsible for providing case management and referrals to ancillary services to a case load of up to 40 participants. The position works closely with stakeholders including but not limited to representatives from the District Court Judges Office the Public Defenders Office The District Attorneys Office the Department of Adult Corrections etc.
The position includes administrative duties such as participant contact documentation and data collection.
The position is full-time Monday through Friday 8a to 5p and located at the Buncombe County Judicial Complex.
Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and implement assigned programs and/or services to support the strategic direction of the department and organization by connecting community participants to services.
Minimum Education Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): Associates Degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Training and Experience: May require program specific training and experience.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of principles practices procedures and philosophies of assigned program and community-based services.
Knowledge of organizational culture and resources both internal to Buncombe County and in the community
Knowledge of ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional standards federal state and local laws or ordinances.
Knowledge of the laws regulations and policies which govern programs as well as financial streams which support individual programs.
Knowledge of the programs and service delivery mechanisms in assigned work areas.
Ability to collect and analyze data and conduct program and performance reviews/audits.
Ability to effectively use various complex software applications.
General knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and planning an ability to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures.
Interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisor the general public etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
In order to uphold internal pay parity and equity salaries are non-negotiable for new and current Buncombe County employees. All new employees are paid according to their years of relevant education and experience above minimum requirements for the position and employees have the opportunity to obtain pay increases via cost of living increases and promotions.
