Position Title: Control Center Supervisor (CCS)
Location: Social Security Administration HQ Baltimore MD
Shifts: CCS is a 24/7 post with multiple shifts
Security Clearance Level: NACI / SSA Suitability Determination
Duties and Responsibilities
The Control Center Supervisors duties include the following:
- Provide operational oversight of all control centers when on duty
- Ensure performance by the control center operators (CCOs)
- Communicate with the Government Watch Officer
- Provide information to the Government Watch Officer on all incidents
- Prepare and electronically distribute all operational logs reports and incident notifications
- Conduct and/or report on equipment testing
- Maintain lost and found inventory and electronic log
- Prepare Automated Incident Reports (AIRs) on found property
- Maintain key control using both paper and electronic logs
- Brief incoming CCSs on all activity
- Ensure information is passed on to CCOs CC Manager and other contractor personnel and government employees
- Respond to questions regarding access control and property removal
- In collaboration with the CC Manager update and maintain the Control Center Operations Manual including SOPs
- Coordinate the distribution of denial of access and situational awareness documents received from the Government
- Conduct on-the-job (OJT) training of new control center personnel
- Supervise the operation of control center security equipment (computer consoles base station radios electronic key control box video surveillance equipment) and computer-based programs (Lenel Microsoft Word and Excel and other SSA specific programs)
- Be knowledgeable of the location and duties of all security posts (i.e. access control vehicle checkpoint loading docks roving/mobile patrol)
- Use basic operating understanding of post equipment such as computers x-ray machines magnetometers and active barriers to accurately report malfunctions/issues
- Participate in agency sponsored exercises including a control center component or partner-initiated exercises (e.g. interagency security committee and law enforcement agencies security exercises quality control exercises)
- Liaise with local State and Federal agencies including Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) the National Weather Service (notifies the control center of natural disasters and weather warnings nationwide) the Federal Protective Service (FPS) and local first responders
- Provide effective communication across multiple platforms that interface within the control center environment such as security contractors government employees security personnel from regional and field offices and other supporting agencies and organizations;
- Communicate via radio with contract Security Officers for alarms events or incidents
- Move CCOs between workstations to ensure continuity of operations
Knowledge and Qualifications
- A United States citizen
- Have either a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in control center supervision which includes scheduling of staff and oversight of a variety of security-related duties including intrusion detection system monitoring notification surveillance system monitoring
- Have a minimum of two years of experience working in a control center type environment within the past five years
- Have the ability to obtain a Public Safety Telecommunicator certification through the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and then maintain all re-certification requirements
- Have the ability to successfully pass the screening for illegal drugs
- Knowledge and experience providing quality customer service to Government employees contractors and/or visitors
- Possess organizational management personnel management conflict resolution and customer service skills and/or experience
- Fluently speak comprehend read and write the English language
- Valid U.S drivers license
