Job Description
The Role:
The Audio-Visual/Telecom Systems Specialist will focus on software and programming hardware and troubleshooting and daily operational monitoring of various audio-visual and telecommunication systems. This position also provides technical support and helps maintain the Authoritys low-voltage cabling infrastructure.What Youll Accomplish:
Keep in mind that this list is not all-inclusive.- Design program and troubleshoot complex digital-media environmentsaudio routing/distribution IP video-conferencing digital signage and both unified and dispatch VoIP communicationsto deliver seamless high-quality user experiences.
- Install terminate test and repair low-voltage and A/V cabling and infrastructure adhering to Authority guidelines NEC regulations and industry best-practice standards.
- Continuously monitor system performance conduct scheduled diagnostics analyze trends and recommend upgrades or configuration changes to maximize reliability capacity and security.
- Develop and maintain clear comprehensive documentationschematics asset inventories and SOPsfor all audio-visual and telecom systems.
- Collaborate with LVCC departments contractors and external vendors to coordinate new installations facilitate maintenance and ensure on-time on-budget project delivery and optimal day-to-day operations.
What Were Looking For:
- AVIXA CTS certification preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience administering complex audio-visual and/or telecommunication systems.
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot devices on Dante network platforms within large-scale Cisco LAN environments using Dante Domain Manager and Dante Controller.
- Skilled in supporting and troubleshooting Q-SYS DSPs amplifiers network I/O devices and Microsoft Teams conferencing systems using Q-SYS Designer Software and Reflect Cloud Monitoring.
- Experience with Crestron control systems including processors and touch panels utilizing Crestron Toolbox X-Panel and XiO Cloud.
- Experience with Avaya Communication Manager or similar VoIP telephony systems.
- Familiarity with Avtec Scout Dispatch Communication or similar two-way radio dispatch platforms.
- Experience operating and maintaining Ross Graphite Quorum and Lighting Control video production systems.
- Proficient in network and communication protocols and tools including TCP/IP UDP/IP Ethernet SSH/Telnet and PuTTY.
- Skilled in working with wiring and cabling infrastructure including Cat6a Single Mode Fiber HDMI DisplayPort and DVI.
- Proficient in the use of standard hand tools and testing equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Clearly conveys technical information to colleagues vendors and stakeholders.
- Works effectively in a multi-project environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and being inclusive.
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- Must have or obtain OSHA 10 safety certification within 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to:
- Regularly lift and carry up to 10 lbs; frequently up to 20 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work in industrial environments with exposure to dust and noise.
- Work outside of normal business hours as required.
