Job Description
Littleton High SchoolGrades 9-12The high school counselor plays a crucial role in supporting the academic social-emotional and the post-secondary planning of :Academic Advising College and Career Planning Social-Emotional and Mental Health SupportGuide students in course selection academic planning and scheduling to meet graduation requirements and post-secondary goalsMonitor student academic progress identify students at risk and implement interventions as neededSupport school-wide social-emotional learning initiatives and crisis response as neededCollaborate with other counselors teachers administrators and parents to support student wellness growth and achievementGuide students and families through all aspects of the college planning and application information and support related to career exploration vocational programs military options and other opportunities and standardized testing (e.g. AP SAT ACT PSAT).Write personalized letters of recommendation and assist students with developing resumes essays and applicationsServe as a liaison with college admission representative and organize college representative visits and college fairsCommunicate effectively with students and parents/caregivers regarding student progress concerns and post-secondary plansContribute to the implementation of the school counseling program based on national and state ASCA modelsSupport school-based events such as college fairs career fairs financial literacy fairs workshops wellness initiatives and transition programsFoster an inclusive school culture that promotes belonging kindness respect responsibility teamwork and student growthAssist with the student support team as well as 504/IEP goals and meetings as neededMaintain accurate and confidential student records Stay current with best practices in school counseling and college/career advisingSalary is based on
