Job Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The Charge Radiological Technologist Weekends works in a computerized environment producing diagnostic radiographs as assigned and carrying out diagnostic procedures either independently or in collaboration with a radiologist or other physician; applies radiation safety principles and practices to protect patients staff and the general public; provides leadership for and direction to assigned staff on weekend shifts; and completes required documentation and administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist. Graduation from an approved radiology technology program. Eligible for membership in the CAMRT. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
