The Pharmacist will provide a ward based clinical pharmacy service including drug chart review and one-on-one patient counselling at the bedside with the pharmacist being a valuable member of the therapeutic team.
This position will be offered on a fixed term contract until August 2026 working 76 hours per fortnight.
The Position
Dispensing medications and education of patients in their use.
Provide a ward pharmacy service to a specific ward including review of drug therapy charts patient medication education and liaison with medical and other paramedical staff.
Preparation of aseptic items in accordance with the guidelines set down by the Code of Manufacturing Practice SHPA Practice standards and Hospital Policies.
To provide assistance in the pharmacy with dispensing and cover of other pharmacists duties as required.
Supervision of imprest stock distribution bulk manufacturing of prepacking by Pharmacy Technicians as required.
Provision of continuing education lectures for staff development within the Hospital.
Contributes to and is involved in Quality Activities with a focus on best practice.
Participates in determining and evaluating the quality of care being delivered to patients.
Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators.
You will be registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA). In addition you will have well-developed interpersonal communication skills with the ability to relate to others in a sensitive and professional manner.
To succeed you will have the ability to work well in a team environment and have excellent time management and organisational skills. You will demonstrate senior clinical skills within the cope of a Pharmacist.

Salary Grade 2: $95276 to $111286 plus 12% superannuation
