The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Central Maine Healthcares Hospital inventory of supplies in clinical areas. Present savings initiatives and targets to clinical leaders and will proactively work with Supply chain staff to identify and address all issues while focusing on continue process improvements.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Minimum (3) years of experience in inventory management or related experience
Minimum two (2) year experience of Inventory tracking software preferred
Experience in hospital inventory management
Training specific to hospital inventory control or supply management
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
Functional understanding of Lawson preferred

Essential Duties:
Responsible for overseeing all replenishment activities including ordering monitoring orders backorders stock-outs substitutions receiving and stocking deliveries.
Assists in maintaining all data including Lawson numbers pricing order unit of measures par optimization.
Conducts routine cycle counting and expiration sweeping activities.
Provides functional supervision to hospital and warehouse supply coordinators and distribution specialist for all inventory control processes.
Provides regular training and in-services for the staff improving compliance and updating them with the latest upgrades.
Regularly runs reports looking for price savings opportunities from overspend overstock and deadstock.
Coordinates with clinical staff to ensure proper inventory levels maintained at all times. Keeps management informed of problem areas and takes constructive corrective action.
Gathers computes compiles codes and reports data and information for variety of purchase orders and routine special or statistical reports or studies. Provides information projections and recommendations for purchase standardization quality amounts or equivalency.
Resolves daily discrepancies on medical supply orders; Seeks approval for over shipments to save expense of returning items. Contacts vendors regarding return for credit. Contacts vendors regarding outstanding purchase orders. Informs staff of status.
Receives and stores equipment deemed recyclable/reusable for future use. Inputs equipment and disposition data into computer. Distributes same as requested.
Edits requisitions and confers with requesting department regarding requirements specifications quantity and quality of merchandise and delivery schedules.
Provides expertise to Purchasers on quantities.
