Job Description

Position Summary: The Laborer performs unskilled and lightly skilled work in the Material Control or Production department. This role involves sorting defective parts packing parts performing minor rework and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Laborer will work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Follows simple instructions regarding visual defects to examine parts in quarantine (defective parts).
  • Segregates acceptable and unacceptable parts using visual comparisons. May use simple go/no-go gauges.
  • Assembles and fits slotted pieces together to form partitions for cartons.
  • Marks tare-weight and type of vox on the side of the box using a marking pencil.
  • Bands (1 or 2) straps around vox before parts go into the box.
  • Floor cleaning degreasing mopping trash pick-up and the like on the shop floor.
  • Performs other customer-driven or product-driven duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience:
  • Familiarity with manufacturing work environments.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to follow simple instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Good communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift medium loads (30-50 pounds).
