Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uses technical skills to generate modify and maintain computer application software in a production environment of the most complex nature.
  • Analyzes existing and projected application systems and performs studies of the interaction of several software systems to ascertain feasibility and performance.
  • Isolates and solves problems within application systems interfaces and middleware infrastructure
  • Coordinates implementation of software and evaluates and modifies existing components. Performs programming testing and documentation.
  • Recommends development of application routines needed for the efficient use of computer sources.
  • Designs approved routines and oversees their implementation.
  • Adheres to internal controls and standards established for department.
  • Provides production support in a 7 X 24 Tier 1 environment.
  • Must be able to work effectively with others to achieve a very high level of application systems availability and integration.
  • Advises other application software specialists with respect to determination of and possible solutions to work problems.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science Information Technology engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in application systems/administration OR 5 years of experience without a degree.
  • Prefer proficiency in at least two scripting languages used currently in production. Must be able to work effectively with others to achieve a very high level of application systems availability and integration.
  • Must be good at solving complex technical problems.
