Job Description
St. Croix Health is a seeking a full time (0.90 FTE) Medical Lab Scientist (MLS/MT) for our Lindstrom MN Clinic. If you are someone who likes to work in a team environment while having the flexibility to be an independent problem solver this is the position for you! The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for performing phlebotomy specimen collection routine laboratory analysis and quality control testing. Performs laboratory duties with minimal supervision to care for a diverse population of patients of all ages.
The laboratory fulfills the St. Croix Health Mission to help people live longer healthier happier lives by providing precise and accurate collection and testing. Through collaboration with our care teams we provide complete care to improve patient outcomes for all patients throughout the St. Croix Health System. We are dedicated to make continuous improvements which provides opportunities to develop individual skills to better prepare you for the next step if desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and process orders and specimens.
- Performs Quality Control checks troubleshooting and teaching others.
- Manage equipment maintenance process.
- Performs laboratory testing reports results accurately and timely.
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Licensure:
- Current MT/CLS/MLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent or obtained within one year of employment
- Bachelors degree or HEW HSS certified as a Medical Technologist or equivalent
- BLS Card
OR
- Graduate of a school qualified in teaching Medical Laboratory Technicians
- Registered and/or certified MLT (ASCP) CLA (ASCP) RMT AMT and/or NCA
- BLS Card
Experience:
- 1- 2 years experience preferred
