Job Description
GHD is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for a upcoming graduate to join us as a Student Engineering Intern in a team oriented and collaborative environment with our Contaminated Sites and Remediation team.
GHD is looking for aStudent Engineering Internready to join ourWhitby office for the Fall 2025 co-op term. Under the mentorship of experienced team members you will provide support to the environmental engineering team by supporting brownfield redevelopment projects working on environmental site assessments and remediation projects and contributing to multi-disciplinary construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of project related technical documents including environmental reports designs drawings technical specifications work plans & cost estimates and drawings for review.
Field work and oversight associated with environmental monitoring environmental investigations OM&M sites and remediation activities will be required and will likely include dust and noise monitoring on a construction site drilling oversight soil sampling well installation groundwater sampling surface water sampling investigative/remedial excavation oversight vapour sampling etc. Gaining experience in the field will include the potential for travel within Ontario. Field demands can include working long hours and working in inclement weather conditions.
Assist in the coordination and scheduling of project related work including working with other GHD staff external contractors and public entities (i.e. obtain permits)
Skills Competencies and Qualifications:
Enrolled in a Bachelors of Engineering (Civil Environmental Geological Nuclear or equivalent)
Positive attitude good communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative
Experience with MS Office
Valid drivers license (an MVR check will be performed prior to hire)
