Based in Winnipeg you will operate independently to research gather package and present content for television as well as radio and digital platforms.
You must be a creative thinker who brings original ideas and treatments. You must also be able to take initiative think on your feet in the field and exercise good judgment.
You will be assigned primarily to the ICI RDI news network and must be available to travel. Work is governed by CBC/Radio-Canada programming policies and Journalistic Standards and Practices.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Three (3) years direct experience including at least one (1) years proven experience reporting in the field for television.
Skills:
Relevant experience filing stories and delivering live hits.
Proven field skills and knowledge of broadcasting.
Knowledge of social political cultural and economic life as well as the key players in Manitoba.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to plan organize and coordinate your day-to-day work so as to meet tight deadlines; ability to work well under pressure.
Creative enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact-gathering.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
Ability to thrive in a team environment while being a resourceful self-starter.
Strong teamwork ethic and attitude.
Solid command of spoken and written French (working language) and outstanding spelling and grammar.
Advanced oral proficiency intermediate writing proficiency and advanced reading proficiency in English an asset.
Valid drivers licence and a driving record that meets the criteria of CBC/Radio-Canadas insurance company.
Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canadas mandate and Journalistic Standards and Practices.
