Job Description

KE&G Construction Inc. one of Southern Arizonas leading heavy-civil contractors is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Facilities Maintenance Personnel to join our team in Tucson. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to grow and thrive in an employee-owned company. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

  • Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance or similar experience.

  • Clean driving record; CDL is a plus.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Committed to working safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Must pass pre-employment and ongoing random drug screenings.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate.
  • Will be required to work in a team environment with fellow employee-owners.
  • Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment which may involve plumbing carpentry painting and mechanical equipment repair or similar.
  • Act as back-up for call person in case of emergency respond timely and appropriately.
  • Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of tools and their safe use.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedule / instruction and complete reports as requested.
  • Check condition and readiness of extinguishers monthly; inspect and maintain lighting system throughout facility.
  • Inspect and maintain plumbing system replace or repair faucets toilet stools urinals traps drains basins and bathtubs as needed; repair or refinishe furniture in rooms offices and dining room as needed.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift
  • Maintain landscaped areas
  • Willing to perform any general labor tasks as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates at a mechanic shop requiring the ability to communicate with verbally others on site in person and over the telephone ability to read printed materials signs and directions stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions ability to lift push pull carry handle or feel objects supplies tools machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance bend stoop kneel crouch crawl lift overhead traverse around or otherwise position ones self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to operate vehicles trailers machinery equipment and other tools within local state and federal safety guidelines.
  • This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside frequently for long periods of time in all weather including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • While working the employee might be exposed to various chemicals vapors pollutants virus or other air-borne pathogens gases uneven surfaces loud noises moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
