Job Description
Amazons Pricing & Promotions Science organization is seeking an ambitious hands-on Senior AI Software Engineer to develop and scale our rapid experimentation & analytics science platform and tool suite for the Generative AI era. We are looking for a talented organized and customer-focused technologist to effectively partner with our scientists data & analytics engineers product managers and dependency teams within Pricing Promotions and across Amazon.
This role requires an individual with excellent technical leadership skills intuitive business acumen ability to effectively operate autonomously and an entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking for an experienced engineer who is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity demonstrates strong attention to detail and has the ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Build strong collaborations. Partner with product engineering and science teams within Pricing & Promotions to successfully deploy machine learning and generative AI solutions at Amazon scale
- Mitigate Risks. Navigate cross-functional and cross-org dependencies risks and make appropriate trade-offs weighing value vs time to market
- Innovate & Deliver. Effectively deliver complex software systems & tools at the intersection of rapidly evolving science planet-scale data and distributed engineering.
- Stay informed. Establish mechanisms to stay up to date on latest scientific & techincal advancements in machine learning LLMs agentic AI probabilistic forecasting and realtime multi-objective optimization techniques. Identify opportunities to apply learnings in improving the efficiency and execution of our science platform and tools
- Keep innovating for our customers. Foster an environment that promotes rapid experimentation continuous learning and incremental value delivery.
About the team
The Pricing & Promotions Science organization leverages planet scale multi-modal data on billions of Amazon and external competitor products to build advanced generative AI and machine learning systems for product similarity substitutability error detection & correction and probabilistic price estimation discovery and discount optimization promotion & deal recommendation and ranking and causal short & long term impact measurement. We preserve long term customer trust by ensuring Amazons prices are always competitive and error free
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5 years experience programming in Python Java C or related language
- 3 years experience in distributed software system architecture design and technical engineering leadership
- 3 years experience in AWS technologies
- Experience with neural deep learning methods machine learning LLMs or Generative AI
- Experience developing software for scientists and machine learning engineers
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with Redshift Spark Snowflake Athena or related data access technologies
- Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration technologies
- Bachelors Degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
