Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret engineering drawings schematic diagrams or formulas and collaborate with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Represent Quality Assurance on product design review committees.
  • Interact with Engineers regarding setup processes and organize workflow until production is running efficiently.
  • Develop and implement sampling procedures forms and instructions for recording evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Select products for testing at specified production stages and assess qualities such as dimensions performance and mechanical electrical or chemical characteristics.
  • Apply statistical quality control procedures to record and evaluate test data.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to validate results or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications to quality or production standards to achieve optimal quality within equipment capabilities.
  • Direct workers engage in measuring and testing products compiling data on material product or process quality and reliability.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions on quality control activities including problem-solving and gauging studies.
  • Specialize in areas of quality control engineering such as design product or process control product evaluation and metrology.
  • Manage sub-supplier certifications and conduct internal external and sub-supplier audits as needed.
  • Oversee FMEA control flow Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.
  • Prepare sample submission packages and maintain supplier quality manuals.
  • Perform customer-driven or product-driven duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
Essential Skills:
  • Proficiency in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) control plans and process flow diagrams.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes in the stamping industry.
  • Experience with mechanical testing equipment (calipers dial indicators micrometers).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical prints.
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and systematic problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational analytical and communication skills.
  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation experience.
  • Background in computer hardware and peripheral interfaces.
