If you answered yes to the question we invite you to seize the opportunity to make a significant impact as a MCS Subsystem Engineer. The main objective will be to provide technical support to ISS/Columbus operations and all the mission control system related activities.
What youll do
As an MCS Subsystem Engineer you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and operability of one of the core ground control subsystems for the Columbus module onboard the ISS. You will:
- Maintain configure and update the software environment of the Mission Control System (MCS)
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across MCS and its interfaced subsystems
- Support ground-based operations including simulations testing and routine system checks
- Serve as the primary technical interface to Airbus for software deliveries and advanced support (layers 3 and 4)
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable system performance
What we are looking for
- A degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field
- Proficiency in Linux Bash scripting and Python programming
- Solid understanding of virtualization technologies and Oracle database administration
- Knowledge of basic IP networking and troubleshooting techniques
- Fluent in English both spoken and written
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Hands-on experience in mission operations environments
- Familiarity with ESA or DLR operational frameworks
- Knowledge about human space flight operations
