The Role

Reporting to the CEO Varley Vehicles we have a permanent full-time position based at our Ballarat site (SEM Fire & Rescue) for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our Varley Specialised Vehicles team. This is an opportunity to:

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Strong experience in production and manufacturing management with solid understanding of customer engagement operations management cost management optimizing processes and implementing LEAN manufacturing best practice standards.
  • Demonstrate your ability to manage the delivery from commencement to completion of all SEM Projects in-line with customers contracts. Manage all project aspects from contract tender stage contract awarded stage engineering requirements procurement requirements production requirements and project progress communication with customers.
  • Ability to demonstrate your ability to develop and manage resources required to complete vehicle builds in-line to customer contracts on-time to budget and of high quality. Manage projects end-to-end resources e.g. labour equipment procurement out-sourcing.
  • Demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively with engineering/purchasing/production teams to set-up all site projects ensure engineering have provided accurate/on-time drawings to production and ensure all materials are delivered to the cells on-time & accurate. Focusing on driving efficiencies and reducing wasted time.
  • Demonstrate your experience with building customer relationships: Liaise with customers on a regular basis to maintain healthy relationships ensure all deliverables meet customer contracts providing additional services reporting systems and support to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate your ability to manage and develop a team: plan coordinate monitor coach and review the work performance of team members.
  • A commitment to health safety environment and quality.
  • Be a solutions-focused problem solver.
  • Enjoy a fast pace where thinking on your feet and managing multiple projects energises you.
  • Experience providing hands-on practical advice (Trade background would be beneficial) and knowledge to teams.
  • Have excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products in particular outlook word and excel
  • Previous practical experience within Vehicle manufacturing related industry will be highly regarded
