Job Description
QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER/SIMULATION to join our team of professionals in Huntsville AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program engineering and technical support to Missile Defense programs. This role involves designing developing testing and deploying high-performance software solutions in support of complex simulation environments. Candidates must be collaborative self-driven and capable of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- Design develop integrate test and deploy software following structured SDLC processes
- Support and enhance modeling and simulation capabilities for mission-critical systems
- Write clean maintainable and efficient code in C and one or more of the following scripting languages: C GoLang Ada or Python
- Collaborate closely with other systems engineers hardware designers and test teams to define software requirements and integrate solutions
- Utilize and manage development tools such as Jira Bitbucket Jenkins Crucible and Fortify in a CI/CD environment
- Communicate project status technical findings and software demonstrations to stakeholders through verbal presentations and written documentation
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Science with at least 2 years of experience
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - software design requirements application development integration testing and deployment
- Demonstrated experience in Modeling and Simulation
- Demonstrated experience with C
- Experience with at least one of the following programming or scripting languages: C GoLang Ada and/or Python
- Experience with two or more of the following tools: Jira Crucible Bitbucket Subversion Bamboo Jenkins Sonarqube Fortify or Coverity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of C and C languages including templates memory storage and compiler/linker
- Experience with SQL Database or JSON Database
- Experience with simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or GMDSIM
- Ability to collaborate with systems engineers hardware designers and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems
- Excellent communication interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Security certification
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
