The Manager Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the environmental services department within the healthcare organization. This role plays a critical role in maintaining a clean safe and sanitary environment for patients staff and visitors. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and implementing best practices in environmental sanitation.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements policies and procedures for environmental cleaning and sanitation ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and infection control guidelines. Manages and supervises a team of environmental services staff including hiring training scheduling and performance management. Conducts regular inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met and takes corrective actions as necessary. Collaborates with other departments such as infection control facilities management and nursing to ensure effective communication and coordination of environmental services. Monitors and manages the department budget including tracking expenses identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation. Stays up to date on industry trends and best practices in environmental services and implements improvements to enhance cleanliness efficiency and patient satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelors preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 2 years Healthcare Environmental Services. At least 5 years of experience and/or 2 to 3 years management experience. Equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Preferred: Professional certification (IEHA CHESP)
