Job Description

Description

Transports patients supplies equipment medication medical charts specimens blood products flowers name plates paper (i.e. OR schedules requisitions etc.) in a timely manner



Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients safely to/from all patient units & designated treatment areas in a timely manner and in accordance with prescribed procedures
  • Perform or assist with the movement of patients; assist with transport/transfer of patients from chair/bed bed/stretcher etc.
  • Performance of specific environmental and support functions
  • Maintenance of required supplies and equipment; ensure equipment used for transport is safe clean and easily accessible
  • Practice effective communication and collaboration with other health care members
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required
  • Current or previous experience as a transporter preferred
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and/or patients with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to be flexible and self-directed
  • Effective interpersonal skills
