About this Job
The Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) is a constitutionally established regulatory agency dedicated to serving the public interest by assuring safe reliable and reasonably priced services are provided by the public utilities and common carriers subject to its jurisdiction.
Were looking for a PSC Enforcement Agent 1 to serve as the first point of contact for the Transportation Division creating a welcoming environment for visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our division running smoothly. In addition provide clerical enforcement of common carriers of transporting household goods waste passengers and non-consensual towing companies.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in the application and/or enforcement of State rules regulating motor carriers or public utilities or in law enforcement; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a PSC Enforcement Agent 1 you will:
- Answers the multi-line phone for the Transportation Division to assist the general public and those common carriers seeking to engage in intrastate for-hire transportation
- Provide general administrative support for the Transportation Division
- Maintain a database of motor carriers contact and business information as well as motor carriers registrations annual filings and fees paid as required by LPSC rules and regulations
- Prepare issue and serve citations resulting from LPSC investigations consumer complaints and/or non-compliance of filings at the direction of the TransportationAdministrator
- As part of citations testify in transportation hearings in support of allegations non-compliance issues againstcommon carriers
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational and Promotional
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a PSC Enforcement Agent 1 2 or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within the job series.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
