Job Description

Exus Renewables North Americais a next-generation Independent Power Producer that develops owns and operates renewable energy assets (Wind Solar and Battery Storage) while providing world class asset management services for over 5 GW of renewable energy assets to third parties. Exus has a proven track record of constructing and commercializing renewable energy assets and they are building their portfolio by acquiring and building utility-scale renewables projects and guiding those still in development through to full operational status.

As part of Exus asset management business the firm undertakes full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide. Exus draws on its wide-ranging expertise to optimize technical performance reduce financial risk and ensure long-term revenue certainty for their own and their clients renewable energy assets.


Exus is seeking a Director of FP&A. The Director of FP&A will be responsible in leading the forecasting budgeting financial modeling and strategic financial analysis functions across the organization. This role will provide financial and strategic guidance to the company by leading all aspects of financial planning and analysis. This role will play a critical role in supporting key business decisions and support both short and long business objectives.


Please note: this is a fully onsite role with 4 days in office 1 day remote with reasonable flexibility in our Pittsburgh office.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute long-term financial strategies multi-year capital plans and enterprise initiatives in partnership with executive leadership ensuring alignment with business goals.
  2. Lead coach and direct the FP&A function including budgeting and forecasting at the business line and corporate levels as well as procuring and oversee reporting / presentations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  3. Develop and maintain robust digestible financial models and analysis to influence short- and long-term strategic decision-making for key stakeholders across the organization.
  4. Develop and communicate the FP&A teams strategic direction including areas of innovation to better support the business.
  5. Develop and partner with CFO on management of annual operating budgets for the company.
  6. Analyze key drivers of financial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  7. Advance the teams strategy around leveraging technology to streamline forecasting budgeting and financial reporting.
  8. Manage mentor and develop a high-performing team fostering an inclusive culture focused on supporting the long-term growth of the company.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree in finance related field masters degree strongly preferred.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience with a combination of FP&A and strategic finance leadership preferably in the renewable energy or energy sector.
  3. Strong understanding of renewable energy project finance including PPA structures tax equity debt financing and cash flow modeling.
  4. Expert-level Excel and financial modeling skills; proficiency in financial software/tools.
  5. Knowledge of standards and regulations related to highly regulated industries and/or renewable energy industry preferred.
