Job Description

This position will work closely with the Neurosurgery Faculty Residents and nursing staff which can include providing support in an outpatient clinical setting during patient appointments providing support and education to the nursing staff facilitate patient surgical scheduling educating and counseling patients on both an inpatient and outpatient basis assisting the physician in performing surgeries in the main OR and in ambulatory surgery as applicable participating in daily rounds providing patient care and discharges post-operatively. The position will also provide draft correspondence relating to patient work status disability medical prognosis and prospective plans of treatment on both an inpatient and outpatient basis and review patient diagnostics and lab reports for interpretation and sign off in the inpatient and outpatient clinical setting. The position may include research.

Qualifications

Education:

Current Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or Current PA-C certification.

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Master of Science in Nursing or Related.

Certification and Licensing:

Current Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license or Current PA-C certification

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

DEA license

BLS certification

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of specialized in treating neurosurgical brain and/or spine patients.

Experience in a clinical care coordination role to move patients quickly safely and efficiently in our present health care system.

Neuroscience Nurse Certification (preferred but not required)
