Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Defense Assessment Analyst to join our team at Fort Huachuca AZ. This role plays a critical part in assessing threats and vulnerabilities to safeguard mission-critical defense systems. Under limited supervision the analyst will conduct testing and evaluation activities including network penetration testing web application security testing and social engineering exercises. The position involves identifying deviations from acceptable configurations and evaluating existing risk levels to support operational cybersecurity decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct assessments of operational threats and vulnerabilities in cyber environments.
  • Perform network penetration testing web application security assessments and social engineering exercises.
  • Analyze current system configurations to determine compliance with required security standards.
  • Provide risk analysis and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Apply scientific statistical and economic principles to support decision-making and model operational impacts.
  • Utilize advanced methods such as linear programming game theory and probability to evaluate cyber risk.
  • Offer expert consultation and guidance on complex cybersecurity issues.
  • Develop innovative and practical solutions that align with organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree (MA/MS) and 10 years of related experience OR
  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) and 12 years of related experience

Required Certifications:

  • IAT Level II certification (Security CE or equivalent)
  • GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Additional Requirements:

  • Must meet DoD 8570 requirements for Technical Level III
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain one)

Physical and Mental Qualifications:

  • Maintain focus and awareness throughout scheduled working hours.
  • Perform tasks requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk utilizing a computer mouse and keyboard.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Quickly learn and retain routine tasks and processes.
  • Possess strong organizational skills attention to detail business correspondence proficiency and self-management capabilities.
