Location:Sechelt BC
Pay rate: $19.50/hr plus 4% vacation pay (total pay $20.28)
Term end date: August 29 2025
Working Hours: 30 hrs/ week

About the Role:
SCCSS is seeking a Summer Student to join ourThrift Store team and help create a welcoming organized and inclusive retailenvironment. As the Thrift Store Worker youll support the day-to-day operationsof the store assist customers and donors and work alongside volunteers toensure a positive shopping experience. This is a great opportunity for studentsinterested in retail community engagement and contributing to a socialenterprise that directly supports local programs and services
KeyResponsibilities:
- Operate the cash register and handle store opening and closing dutiesincluding pricing and researching items as needed.
- Support volunteers with receiving organizing sorting and pricingdonations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both customers and donors.
- Assist with program administration and clerical tasks as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the efficient operationof the Thrift Store.
- Uphold the mission vision and values of SCCSS by participating inorganization-wide initiatives as requested or as interested.
- Stay informed about SCCSS programs and services.
Qualifications:
- Must be between the ages of 15 and 30.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in dynamic environmentswith a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable using new technologies and working insituations that require adaptability.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of thedynamics of violence against marginalized individuals.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings andweekends based on operational needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
AdditionalInformation:
- Successfulcompletion of a criminal record check is required.
- Thisposition is based at the SCCSS Thrift Store.
- Roleinvolves lifting and moving general supplies or equipment; the ability to liftup to 20 lbs is beneficial but not mandatory.
