You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSt. Pauls School seeks a locksmith who will be responsible for installing maintaining repairing and adjusting all types of locks and their components for School buildings rooms furniture and vehicles. The locksmith will cut and issues keys; program and issue key cards; implements troubleshoots repairs and programs electronic access control systems; upgrades and maintains repairs of automatic door openers door closing units and control gates; inspects related contractor-completed work for conformance with specifications. Performs light carpentry and other duties as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Install repair and maintain commercial locks and related hardware including card access locks
on doors windows lockers and magnetic keying systems to ensure safety of facilities.
Produce and/or modify hardware for locks.
Design implement and maintain preventative maintenance program.
Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in automatic locks for the purposes of identifying
equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring
availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate
safety or security concerns.
Cleans maintains adjusts calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to School specifications and
requirements.
Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction.
Operate and maintain computer software related to card access control systems.
Light carpentry/repair/painting generally related to doors windows millwork glazing and
screens.

Qualification Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Locksmith training or at least two years of locksmith experience
Ability to operate a personal computer and software related to automatic locks
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance
instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers
common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ration and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or
diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Valid New Hampshire drivers license required.
Requires complete understanding of all phases of the Carpentry Trade (to include
casework construction) and a general knowledge of all phases of building construction. Ability to read and
understand prints and shop drawings.
Familiarity with various construction materials and tools.
Must be able to prioritize work so that all assignments are completed in an efficient manner.
