ManpowerGroup Greece on behalf of our client a pioneering global leader in AI-powered financial technology solutions is looking for a highly motivated SW Engineer with strong skills in Java to join a dynamic and fast-growing team.
Location: Northern Suburbs of Athens
Work Model: Hybrid(3 Days in the office 2 Remote)
Reporting Line: Directly to the IT Director
What you will do:
As an experienced Software Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the development and continuous improvement of cutting-edge fintech services. Your primary focus will be on application performance ensuring that the solutions are highly scalable efficient and reliable to support business growth and customer trust.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Participate fully in the software development lifecycle from designing coding analyzing to documenting applications built with the Spring Framework.
- Monitor maintain and support mission-critical production environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Work closely with fellow engineers to design build and deploy scalable fintech services across global markets.
- Identify and apply modern development techniques and emerging technologies to enhance product quality and system performance.
- Conduct load testing analyze performance metrics and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance and stability issues in real-world high-traffic environments.
Requirements
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in software development
- Strong skills in Java and the Spring Framework
- A genuine interest in performance scalability and system reliability
- Good understanding of system and network fundamentals
- Experience working with databases
- Familiarity with high-concurrency and high-throughput systems
- Basic scripting skills (e.g. Bash)
- Exposure to tools like load balancers reverse proxies and message queues
- Some experience with containerization and CI/CD practices
- Awareness of secure coding standards and best practices
- Fluency in both Greek and English
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies
- Team spirit and strong communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset and good organizational habits
- Ability to stay focused under pressure and meet deadlines
Will be highly appreciated:
- Skills in Elasticsearch Postgres
- Working experience with high throughput applications tuning even in other sectors such as Gaming or Telco
