Permanent Radiology/MRI Technologist Location: Austin TX 78735
Shift: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions: - Perform MRI procedures following established exam protocols in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain imaging quality by adhering to production standards and departmental procedures.
- Utilize AIDET (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) to communicate effectively with patients.
- Identify patient needs verify correct exams and build rapport with patients and families.
- Instruct and communicate with patients and their families about the procedures being performed.
- Assess the patients ability to tolerate MRI exams and make adjustments accordingly.
- Prepare patients and equipment including positioning immobilization and exposure settings.
- Follow safety infection-control drug and radiation policies to protect patients and staff.
- Use sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintain proper hand hygiene.
- Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness collaborating with engineers or physicists as needed.
- Report any equipment issues to management or appropriate departments.
- Assist with maintaining supply inventories.
- Screen individuals entering the department according to established safety procedures.
- Obtain verify and maintain required documentation including patient histories requisitions pregnancy status consent forms and shielding precautions.
- Maintain imaging records in the appropriate system and ensure timely availability for interpretation.

- Stay up to date on skills and knowledge for patient care across all age groups: newborn pediatric young adult adult and geriatric.
Qualifications: - Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience acceptable
- Certification/Licensure:
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT(MR) or
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography ARRT(R)
