Position Details: Speech Language Pathologist

  • Title: Speech Language Pathologist
  • Location: Steger IL
  • Duration: 08/18/2025 to 06/05/2026
  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Working Hours: 7:15 am to 2:45 pm from Monday to Friday
  • Student Age Group: District Wide

Responsibilities: Speech Language Pathologist

  • Evaluate students’ speech and language skills.
  • Provide therapeutic intervention to identified students.
  • Consult with staff and/or parents regarding speech and language functioning in the educational setting.
  • Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
  • Identify and evaluate students with speech and language impairments.
  • Provide a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of speech and language impaired children.
  • Participate in the determination of eligibility for special education and related services in the area of speech and language impairment.
  • Participate in teacher and parent conferences including multidisciplinary conferences IEP meetings and Annual Reviews.
  • Develop and implement IEPs for all students eligible for special education and related services in the area of speech and language impairment.
  • Provide intervention support for students in the speech RtI process.
  • Team teach with classroom teachers when appropriate.
  • Complete required documentation and reports including Medicaid billing case notes and related service logs.
  • Participate on case study and collaboration teams as needed.
  • Facilitate curriculum and instructional modifications.

Qualifications: Speech Language Pathologist

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Language Pathologist (teaching or non-teaching) endorsement.
