Job Description

Job Purpose:

To drive business growth relationship management and profitability in the Commercial Banking segment. The Team Lead will supervise a team of Relationship Managers ensure the achievement of financial targets and provide tailored financial solutions to medium and large businesses.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development:

    • Lead origination and acquisition of new commercial clients to grow the bank s portfolio.

    • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to increase share of wallet.

    • Cross-sell the bank s products and services to deepen client relationships.

  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Maintain high-quality client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

    • Provide strategic financial advice to clients understanding their business needs.

    • Monitor client accounts and proactively manage risks.

  • Credit & Risk Management:

    • Oversee credit proposals and ensure quality documentation in line with credit policies.

    • Monitor loan performance and early warning signs to mitigate risk exposures.

    • Collaborate with Risk and Credit teams for timely approval and disbursement.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Coach mentor and manage a team of Relationship Managers and Officers.

    • Drive team performance to achieve targets for deposits loan growth and fee income.

    • Foster a high-performance and client-centric culture.

  • Reporting & Compliance:

    • Provide regular reports on business performance risks and market intelligence.

    • Ensure full compliance with banking regulations internal controls and credit policies.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Finance Economics or related field (MBA or professional certifications like ICAN ACCA or CIBN is an advantage).

  • 7 years experience in Commercial or Corporate Banking with at least 2 years in a supervisory/team lead role.

  • Strong understanding of banking products credit analysis and financial advisory.

  • Proven track record in client acquisition and portfolio management.
