Job Description
Manage and supervise all accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger payroll and fixed asset management.
Prepare and analyse accurate and timely monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements in accordance with IFRS.
Ensure compliance with all local national and international accounting standards tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
Develop implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Coordinate and manage external audits liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report on variances.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support business decisions.
Manage mentor and develop the accounting team fostering a culture of accuracy efficiency and continuous improvement.
Oversee bank reconciliations and manage cash flow effectively.
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Stay updated with changes in accounting standards tax laws and financial regulations.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance.
Specify preferred certifications ACCA CMA is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting with at least 3-7 years in a senior accounting or Chief Accountant role.
Proven experience in managing a full set of accounts and preparing financial statements.
In-depth knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
Strong understanding of internal control principles and risk management.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems odoo).
Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities with a proven track record of developing and motivating staff.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
