Job Description Summary
Summary of Position: Marshall Universitys Office of Student Conduct is seeking candidates who are communicative organized and skilled applicants for a 20 hour a week graduate assistantship responsible for supporting the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountabilitys mission. This position is supervised by the Assistant Director of Student Advocacy and Accountability. The Student Accountability Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability is responsible for upholding university standards of student conduct and behavior. The appointee will achieve these objectives by creating developmental opportunities as well as guiding students through the process of resolving student conduct code violations. Position Duties Support and implement the mission vision and goals of the University Division of Student Affairs and Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability; Provide information to students regarding the universitys conduct process; inform students of their rights and responsibilities; Adjudicate student conduct code violations and follow up on sanction completion; Advocate for students in the formal hearing process; Assist students to problem solve and be successful in college by collaborating with other departments in order to link students to appropriate support services; Assist the Assistant Director with selection and training of student conduct board members; Report student issues through appropriate channels in a timely manner; Plan and implement programming and educational initiatives; Assist with department events and functions as needed; some evening and weekend work may be required; Conditions of Employment Complete 20 hours of work per week. Maintain a minimum cumulative and semester GPA of 3.0. The term of appointment is for the 2025-2026 academic year. Appointment is based on performance and is renewable upon evaluation and consent of the Senior Director of Student Advocacy and Accountability. Assistantship will begin August 4 2025 and run through May 15 2026. Outside employment must be approved by the Assistant Director of Student Advocacy and Accountability. Approval will be based on position and academic performance; outside employment cannot interfere with GA responsibilities.
