Key job responsibilities
Systems Developers are expected to develop best practices refine operational procedures and constantly innovate proactively. You will continuously identify areas of growth within the existing frameworks tools and processes to develop further technical mechanisms to reduce waste and continuously improve our testing and control systems.
Our ideal candidate is autonomous detail oriented possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and has experience working at scale. You will be part of all stages of the software and hardware development life-cycle: definition planning activities design implementation and delivery. You will be expected to lead the design and development of core features drive team discussions on system architecture and component design and influence the technical strategy for the product as a whole.
A day in the life
You will get an opportunity to build products and services that ensure that customers around the world view our content in a consistent uniform way regardless of device from the comfort of their living rooms. This includes working on custom Harness solutions that automate testing and control of AV devices via HDMI IP and other interfaces.

About the team
Our Living Room organisation currently deploys its platform to more than 2000 devices ranging from televisions to consoles set-top boxes and streaming sticks. Our mission is to build the best infrastructure systems and testing tools to improve the SDLC for developers building applications on living room devices. Our space is challenging and there are no ready blueprints. To deliver this mission our team are constantly inventing state-of-the-art solutions that are creative and scalable.
As part of the team you will learn and leverage the full Prime Video technical stack. Our main goal is to improve the SDLC for developers creating applications on the living room platform. We are a diverse team powered by a strong belief in an inclusive approach to building software. We welcome engineers of all backgrounds and are in continuous search for the brightest technical talent out there!
- Programming experience with Python preferred or at least 1 other modern language such as C C# JavaScript TypeScript and Rust
- Knowledge of IT and AV standards such as color spaces codecs container formats and HDMI/HDR/IP based streaming protocols
- Experience working with data centre infrastructure server hardware development and distributed systems
- Experience with networking and cloud systems for remote testing environments
- Familiarity with AV utilities such as FFmpeg and GStreamer
- Linux experience provisioning performance tuning and operating system fundamentals
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience in Software Engineering DevOps or Systems Engineering capacity
- Experience integrating test systems with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions)
- Contributions to open-source AV tools or protocol libraries
