Project Description
The DNS Squad consists of 12 team members and is fully responsible for the end-to-end management of Deutsche Telekom AGs resolving and authoritative DNS systems. These platforms form part of our critical infrastructure and are essential core components of the German network. The team handles the complete lifecycle and continuous development of these systems.
This platform processes all DNS requests from the mobile network. As a DevOps Engineer you will collaborate closely with our suppliers and fellow DevOps engineers to design integrate deploy monitor and troubleshoot the mobile DNS platform.
Activity description and concrete tasks:
- Implementation and operation of physical virtualized and containerized system environments
- Analysis troubleshooting and documentation of system malfunctions
- Regular checks and refinement of automated processes and strategies such as failover deployment and disaster recovery to ensure a highly available and resilient system with minimum recovery time
- Identification documentation and structuring of new test use cases
- Optimization (Development) of scripts (Ansible Bash Perl Python)
- Implementing changes in test reference and productive systems to enhance system stability and/or provide new features
- Development of new methods and tools for data analysis and monitoring
- Cooperate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system functionality
- Collaborate closely with the German operations team to streamline processes enhance software tools and system performance and apply innovative technologies and concepts
Qualifications :
Mandatory skills:
- Fundamental knowledge of DNS (Bind & PowerDNS DoH/DoT/DoQ) --> preferably you have worked in a TelCo company
- Proficiency in using as well as adapting Ansible is a must
- Experience with IP networks router and LAN/WAN technologies as well as troubleshooting them with tracing tools (e.g. wireshark)
- Hands-on experience of monitoring systems (Grafana CheckMK Telegraf )
- Extensive know-how in working on and configuring Linux-based operating systems (RedHat9 and Suse15)
Optional skills:
- Very good analytical skills combined with strong quality awareness
- Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
Additional info:
Being on-call for round about 8 weeks per year and rarely performing changes outside of regular working hours
