Senior Autonomy Engineer

Autonomy is a strategic imperative for the Boeing company. The Autonomy Capability Hub (ACH) is accelerating the development of exciting autonomy solutions across the enterprise. We harness the power of Boeing talent to address business challenges in the design and integration ofautonomous systems.

We are seeking an innovative Senior Autonomy Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of autonomous-system capabilities that support our products and align with the broader Boeing enterprise Autonomy Capabilities Team (ACT). The main role of the ACH Senior Autonomy Engineer is to support the ACH and ACT by contributing to teams developing common mission-and-flight-autonomy capabilities for Boeings portfolio of systems.

Due to the International nature of the role and business as a whole there may be the requirement to support after hours meetings and calls however flexibility is encouraged. Domestic and international travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis.

This role is a permanent position based in Brisbane with hybrid conditions.

About the Role

  • Execute on the day-to-day tasks related to algorithm and software design development integration and testing
  • Document technical solutions
  • Lead and/or support agile software development practices
  • Lead and/or support technical design reviews
  • Provide technical support and mentor for junior engineers
  • Support ACT/ACH initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of external stakeholders engagement

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering
  • Knowledge of vehicle guidance navigation and motion control systems
  • Knowledge of service-oriented software architectures for mission-management systems
  • Experience in algorithm design
  • Experience in design development and testing of software
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a cross-disciplinary project team

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Knowledge of Real-Time Operative System (RTOS)
  • High assurance software development
  • Knowledge of run-time assurance diagnosis and fault-tolerance
