Your new role

As our new Senior Consultant/Managing Consultant you will work with a dynamic and growing team that addresses topics related to research and innovation competitiveness sustainability and strategic autonomy. You will contribute to strategic and impactful projects that focus on the social economic regulatory and technological drivers shaping Europes competitiveness.

You will be part of Ramboll Management Consulting Belgium. Our multidisciplinary and multilingual department is based in Brussels and works closely with the EU institutions and stakeholders to support a green and just transition for lasting Europes competitiveness. We work on projects that combine strategy and policy advice with deep technical expertise. You will work continuously with our colleagues across Ramboll and have access to a global pool of technical expertise in Ramboll Group throughout Europe and worldwide.

Additionally there will be travel opportunities to engage with stakeholders and clients throughout Europe.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Delivering on projects and consulting assignments for the European institutions industry associations and private companies on EU innovation policy industrial policy and competitiveness.
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities including by coordinating and drafting proposals.
  • Planning and executing data collection and evidence gathering activities qualitative and quantitative analyses stakeholder consultations strategy and planning processes.
  • Contributing to robust analysis and compelling report writing.
  • Designing and implementing stakeholder engagement processes to inform analyses or facilitate decisions.
  • Participating in meetings with clients and partners to pitch on our methodological choices or present and discuss our study findings

About you

From the moment you start at Ramboll well seek to support your professional and personal development in any way we can. Still we have identified some qualifications and capabilities that will enable you to do well in this role. These include:

  • Educational background: Masters degree in business economics political science or related fields.
  • Professional experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in consulting research or policy work preferably with exposure to public sector clients.
  • Research and analytical skills: proven ability to design and deliver innovative research approaches and to produce high-quality policy-relevant reports across a wide range of thematic areas and methodologies.
  • Proposal development: experience in leading the development of successful proposals including for EU public sector clients.
  • Project delivery: experience in managing large and multi-stakeholder projects including oversight of budgets teams and deliverables.
  • Data and analysis: strong skills in collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data and in drafting coherent evidence-based texts. Experience with advanced statistical methods or data analysis tools (e.g. R STATA) is an advantage.
  • Project coordination: ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and to manage competing deadlines. An interest in developing further project management capabilities is welcomed.
  • Policy impact orientation: strong interest in working with public sector clients and engaging with industry stakeholders to support the development and implementation of impactful policy measures.
  • Thematic knowledge: familiarity with at least one of the following topics is required: economic growth and competitiveness innovative and clean technologies just transition manufacturing capacities or supply chain resilience.
  • Languages: Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in French Dutch or German is considered a plus.
