Under the general supervision of the Cash Office Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of the more technical accounting and review functions in the Cash Office. The primary duties include reviewing cash batches for accuracy posting cash batches and payments to the accounting system uploading cash transmittals and providing technical support to the Cash Office staff. Lead responsibilities may be assigned.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK FOR OUR TEAM
The Accounting Technician I serves as a key role in the Finance Department working in a fast-paced open-office environment that experiences frequent interruptions all while providing exceptional customer service. You will interact with various departments and divisions all throughout CBJ. The Finance Department is a dynamic and evolving environment that will require your innovative thinking willingness to adapt quickly and flexible mindset. In return you will experience a variety of duties the opportunity for growth and long-term stability.



WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00am 4:30pm with a one-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks.

The office for this position is located on the First floor of downtown Juneaus City Hall Building at 155 Heritage Way.

Typical Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or the equivalent.

Experience:

Six (6) months of any combination of job-related post-secondary education and clerical or customer service experience in a job-related area.

Post-secondary Credit: Courses will be credited based on 3 semester/4 quarter hours 1 month of experience.

Applicant must document how relevant education and experience meets the above minimum qualification.

*Transcripts that indicate the credit hours earned for the specific course work will need to be included with the CBJ application.
